Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information joq-al.com (“JOQ”) handles, where it is kept and for how long. JOQ is run by Nikola Resulaj, who is responsible for this website. Contact: nikolaresulaj7@gmail.com.

1. The short version

  • Your photos never leave your device. The Headline Post Maker draws the post in your browser.
  • There are no accounts. JOQ does not ask for your name or email address.
  • Your brand kit and your recent designs are kept in your own browser, not on our server.
  • The server sees the addresses you paste into “Start from a link”, and keeps an ordinary access log for 30 days.
  • When ads are shown, they come from Google AdSense, which uses cookies. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent first.

2. What stays on your device

Photos and the posts you make. When you add a photo, your browser opens it and draws the post. The photo and the finished image are not sent to this site.

Brand kit. Your page handle, logo, highlight colour, box size, font, the setting of the “Made with JOQ” mark and your last template and size are saved in your browser’s local storage under the name joq_kit, so they are set the next time you open the tool. A second entry, joq_recent_count, holds only the number of your recent designs.

Recent designs. Your last 12 saved designs, with their photos, text and settings, are kept in your browser’s database (IndexedDB, database joq).

We cannot see or read any of this. To delete it, press “Clear recent” and “Clear” in the brand kit, or delete this site’s data in your browser’s settings. It is also deleted if you clear your browser’s data for joq-al.com.

3. What passes through our server

Start from a link. When you paste an address and press Load, our server fetches that page and its preview image and passes the title and image to your browser. Neither the page nor the image is stored. The website you link to sees a request from our server, not from you. To limit misuse, the server counts these requests per internet connection for 10 minutes, using a coded form of the connection’s address that cannot be turned back into the address; the count is then deleted.

Access log. Like most web servers, ours records each request: the internet address it came from, the date and time, the address requested (including addresses pasted into “Start from a link”), the page you came from and the name and version of your browser. The log is kept for 30 days and then deleted. It is used to keep the site running and secure, and is not shared or sold.

The legal basis for both is our legitimate interest in running a working, secure website (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR).

Hosting. The site runs on a server rented from Contabo GmbH, which processes this data on our behalf.

4. Cookies

JOQ itself sets no cookies for visitors. The fonts are stored on this site, so no font service sees your visit. Cookies may be set by the advertising described below and by videos or posts embedded from other services in our guides.

5. Advertising

When ads are shown on this site, they are served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor’s previous visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites on the internet.

You can turn off personalised advertising in Google’s Ads Settings, and opt out of some other vendors’ personalised advertising at aboutads.info. Google explains how it uses information from sites that show its ads at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for their consent through Google’s consent message, a consent management platform certified by Google, before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice through the same message.

6. Content from other services

Guides may embed videos or posts from YouTube, Instagram, X or TikTok. These are loaded from those companies, which may set cookies and see your visit under their own privacy policies.

7. Children

JOQ is not aimed at children under 16 and does not knowingly collect information about them.

8. Your rights

Under data protection law you can ask what information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to how it is used. Because JOQ has no accounts, the only information about you on our server is in the access log for up to 30 days; to find your entries we would need your internet address and the time of your visit. You can also complain to your data protection authority.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published here with a new date at the top.
